Local 810 recently received extensive network upgrades and wanted to replace their aging email system to a product that better fit their current needs. Email is a crucial part of their daily operations and what they needed was a solution that is a well-supported alternative to Exchange. They needed features such as Outlook synchronization, calendaring, contact sharing, and Mac support. With a small budget they couldn't afford to upgrade to a system as costly as Exchange but needed something as reliable, with as many features, and at a smaller cost.
After consultation, The Haber Group recommended an email system that met their current and as well as future needs. The system had the same reliability and had equally, if not more, of a feature set than Exchange. Local 810 was presented with Zimbra Collaboration Suite which worked perfectly in their current work environment given that every employee was already using Outlook as a mail client. In addition to the Outlook synchronization Zimbra also gave users access to the feature rich AJAX web mail which offered the same functionality as Outlook. They also took full advantage of the multi-platform support being that the Macs onsite could finally sync mail, calendars, and contacts with the mail server as a native client.
On top of Zimbra providing a superior user experience, the system itself improved user productivity at a fraction of the cost Exchange would have been. Users finally had a way to access their messaging platform centrally with features that enabled better organization and improved the way they communicated with each other as well as others.
